Hobbies: Being from northern Michigan, I enjoy many outdoor activities such as camping, kayaking, snowboarding, and fishing. As a former collegiate softball player, I love playing and watching many different types of sports. My husband and I enjoy doing home improvement projects, including anything from installing real hardwood floors and tile to designing and building a two story shed/cabin. I am especially passionate about gardening (including vegetables, flowers, and native plants) utilizing sustainable methods and organic techniques. I participate in multiple educational forums and lectures in gardening, food preservation, beekeeping, and monarch conservation to continue to expand my knowledge and allow me to be a responsible gardener. I also anticipate undergoing the training and certification process to become a certified Master Gardener in the future. I specialize in growing and sharing dahlias, which I currently have over 25 different varieties. I also participate in monarch conservation efforts, growing my own milkweed and raising monarchs to be released. My native plant/pollinator garden was recently certified as an official “monarch way way station”, which I am very excited about.
Clinical Interests: MSK, and Breast Imaging
